Our History
I was just a teenager in 1985 when I found myself elbow-deep in soapy water at the Sculpture Gardens in Marina Del Rey. Washing dishes wasn’t glamorous, but it was the spark that lit my lifelong love for food. Even in that noisy back kitchen, I realized something powerful: every plate had the potential to bring joy.
From there, my journey took me through some of the most inspiring kitchens in the country. Christian Planchon taught me the dance between tradition and innovation. Pascal Oudin showed me the elegance of French technique. Robert Saunders revealed how a perfectly crafted dish could turn a meal into a memory. Mark Militello introduced me to the vibrant soul of South Florida cuisine, while David Burke taught me that food is art—a canvas for bold creativity.
Each of these mentors gave me the same lesson: flavor and quality don’t just satisfy—they brighten your day.
After more than 30 years in the industry, I knew it was time to create something of my own. Downtown West Palm Beach called to me with its energy, warmth, and sunshine. In 2025, that calling became Brighten Your Day—a breakfast and lunch haven where every dish and drink is crafted with care, joy, and purpose.
Our coffee comes from a local small-batch roaster. Our smoothies are blended with fresh fruits like mango, pineapple, banana, and strawberry. Our menu is filled with house-made creations that balance comfort with creativity. Everything we serve has one mission: to make you feel just a little brighter.
This restaurant is the culmination of a journey that started in a dish pit and wound through some of the finest kitchens in America. It’s a place where locals gather, where travelers discover a hidden gem, and where every guest leaves with a smile.
